Jangseong-gun Seeks Operators for Buildings Near Public Bus Terminal
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it is recruiting operators to utilize old buildings within the town center.
The building is located near the Jangseong Public Bus Terminal, situated on the route entering Jangseong-eup from Gwangju, making it easily noticeable. Additionally, large marts and shopping areas are lined up nearby.
The building, constructed in 1965, was mainly used as a warehouse and has a size of 65 pyeong (215㎡) on the first floor above ground.
The county purchased a privately owned parking lot that had been left unattended and created a pleasant public parking lot, with the building located inside this parking area.
In the past, it was common to demolish old buildings and rebuild new ones, but recently, there have been many cases of maximizing the use of existing facilities.
The history of the building itself becomes the design and content.
Reflecting this trend, the county decided to preserve the building rather than demolish it and to entrust its operation, with the building’s use to be determined based on the applicant’s proposal.
Applicants eligible to apply must be individuals (aged 20 or older) residing in the county as of the announcement date (January 8), individual business owners, corporations, or organizations.
Applications must be submitted to the Future Growth Development Division of the county office by March 8, along with a proposal specifying the intended use and operation plan of the facility.
The county plans to announce the successful bidder on its website in March after evaluation by the evaluation committee. Once the operator is confirmed, remodeling work will be carried out, and business is expected to commence around July.
The usage permission period is three years from the contract date and can be extended once.
