[2021 Asia Consumer Awards] Korea's First Mouthwash Dong-A Pharmaceutical 'Garglin'... Alcohol Content Also Indicated on Packaging
Over-the-Counter Medicine Sector Dong-A Pharmaceutical 'Garglin'
[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Dong-A Pharmaceutical's Garglin, launched in 1982 as the first oral rinse product in Korea, is actively engaging in consumer-friendly activities.
Garglin is transparent like water without any color because it does not contain tar dyes, considering consumers sensitive to tar dyes. Also, to ensure consumers' right to know, the alcohol content is indicated on the product's exterior. Additionally, alcohol-free products such as Garglin Zero and Garglin Chamomile, as well as low-alcohol products like Garglin Original and Garglin Lime, have been released.
Garglin also offers a variety of other product lines. In 2008, the spray-type Garglin Fresh liquid was launched, followed by an alcohol-free Garglin for children in 2009. The children's Garglin comes in various flavors such as apple, strawberry, and bubble gum. In 2013, a single-use stick-type Garglin that can be taken out one by one as needed was introduced.

Furthermore, Garglin is participating in the eco-friendly trend. The previously hard-to-recycle colored containers have been replaced with colorless transparent containers that are easier to recycle, and moisture-separable adhesive labels are used on the product surface to facilitate easier removal during the recycling process.
