Industrial Ministry Official Tests Positive for COVID-19... "Over 120 Employees Undergoing Testing"
[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] An employee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy working at the Government Sejong Complex has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This is the first confirmed COVID-19 case within the Ministry.
According to the Ministry on the 27th, an official A, who had been self-quarantining after a family member tested positive for COVID-19, was confirmed positive following a COVID-19 test on the same day. Although the test conducted a few days earlier was negative, symptoms of COVID-19 appeared later, and after retesting, the result came back positive.
The Ministry instructed about 120 employees working in A’s office and nearby areas to return home and undergo COVID-19 testing on the same day. Disinfection measures were completed for the entire floor.

A Ministry official stated, "Since the employee tested positive while self-quarantining, the possibility of additional infections among other employees is considered low," adding, "Test results for the employees are expected to be available as early as this afternoon or by tomorrow morning at the latest."
