SK Siltron Supports 75,000 Lunchboxes for 600 Vulnerable People in Gumi Area
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Semiconductor wafer manufacturer SK Siltron announced on the 27th that it will carry out a public-private joint 'On(tact) Project' to provide free lunchboxes to elderly and children suffering from food insecurity in the Gumi area of Gyeongbuk.
SK Siltron plans to provide 75,000 lunchboxes over three months to 200 children and 400 elderly people facing food insecurity, in cooperation with Gumi City Hall and the Gumi Saemaeul Central Market Merchants Association. The company explained that this is part of the ongoing effort since last year to establish a social safety net in Gumi.
To promote this project, SK Siltron employees raised 30 million won in donations during the year-end and New Year period. The company also supplemented this with company funds and designated donations to the Community Chest of Korea.
