Hong Kong, China Fuxing - Germany BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Approval
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] The Hong Kong government reportedly approved the emergency use of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines developed by China's Fuxing (Fuxing) Pharmaceutical and Germany's BioNTech on the 25th.
According to local media on the day, 1 million doses of the vaccine are expected to arrive from Germany around the end of next month. This marks the first time the Hong Kong government has authorized the use of a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Hong Kong government is reportedly planning to start free vaccination for all citizens from mid-next month.

Previously, the Hong Kong government signed purchase agreements for 7.5 million doses each of COVID-19 vaccines from China's Sinovac, the UK's AstraZeneca, and the US's Pfizer, securing a total of 22.5 million doses, and stated that it is seeking additional vaccines.
