High School Student Who Sent "National Assembly Explosion" Threat Text Caught in Less Than an Hour
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A bomb threat text message targeting the National Assembly building caused chaos in the area. Police investigation revealed that the threat message was a prank by a high school student.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that at around 5:45 PM on the 25th, they received an anonymous bomb threat text stating, "I will blow up the Yeouido National Assembly building." After tracking the sender's location, they secured the custody of a high school student identified as A in a location in Seoul at around 6:20 PM.
According to the police, A sent the false message while traveling in a car with his parents.
Upon receiving the message, police and fire authorities deployed 21 fire trucks, 83 firefighters, and local police officers to the National Assembly to search for explosives.
