Movement Restrictions on 580,000 Poultry Across 12 Farms Within a 10km Radius
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] A high pathogenic avian influenza (AI) case has been confirmed at a laying hen farm in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, prompting culling operations at the affected farm.
According to the city quarantine authorities on the 23rd, culling began this morning for 478,000 laying hens at Farm A located in Janghowon-eup.
Additionally, 8,000 laying hens at another farm within a 3 km radius of Farm A and 1,000 pheasants at a pheasant farm will also be culled preventively.
The city quarantine authorities have restricted movement for 580,000 poultry across 12 farms within a 10 km radius. In the Icheon area, approximately 2.38 million poultry are raised across 74 farms.
