Why Seung-ro Lee, Seongbuk-gu Mayor, Continues 'Talk Concerts with Residents' Even in the COVID Era?
From January 26 to February 4, Four Sessions of Non-Face-to-Face Real-Time Resident Communication Talk Concert 'Seongbuk Toktok Open District Office' Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Since the launch of the 7th local government, Seungro Lee, the mayor of Seongbuk-gu who has continued field- and people-centered communication administration, will pilot operate the 4-session online real-time talk concert ‘Seongbuk Toktok Open Mayor’s Office’ from the 26th to continue empathetic communication with residents in the post-COVID-19 era.
The ‘Field Mayor’s Office’ is a campaign project of Mayor Seungro Lee, planned from the beginning of his term with the purpose of listening to local issues in the field of citizens’ lives and seeking policy targets with residents.
However, at this point where field communication has become difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Lee intends to continue uninterrupted communication with residents through non-face-to-face channels.
Seungro Lee, mayor of Seongbuk-gu, plans to gradually expand the Field Mayor’s Office to encourage participation from various social groups. In January and February, it will be piloted targeting policy groups connected to residents’ lives and district administration issues, and if the prolonged COVID-19 situation continues, online Field Mayor’s Offices will be operated by neighborhood from March to June, with plans to expand to the entire district administration in the second half of this year.
First, before the Lunar New Year holiday begins, a total of four sessions of the Open Mayor’s Office will be held in four fields during the period from January 26 to February 4 (▲Resident Autonomy Committee on January 26 ▲Neighborhood Community Welfare Council on January 28 ▲Traditional Market on February 2 ▲Apartment Complex on February 4).
The meetings will be conducted via Zoom video conferencing, and the videos will be broadcast live on YouTube, allowing interested residents to participate in real-time comments without location restrictions.
To access the district office’s YouTube channel, go to YouTube and enter ‘SeongbukTV’ in the search bar.
Mayor Lee said, “The field is the starting point and the place where solutions exist for problems directly related to residents’ lives. Over the past two years, Seongbuk-gu has taken the problems found in the field, shared them with residents, and reflected them in policies, which has been an important opportunity to lead changes in Seongbuk. Even as the COVID-19 situation continues, we will continue to hold opportunities to share and communicate district administration with residents.”
