'Minor Sexual Assault' Pro Gamer Yoon Tae-in Sentenced to Prison Again in Appeal Trial
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Professional gamer 'Free' (FR3E·nickname) Yoon Tae-in, who was prosecuted for sexually assaulting a minor, was sentenced to prison again in the appellate court.
The Seoul High Court Criminal Division 9 (Presiding Judges Han Gyu-hyun, Kwon Soon-yeol, Song Min-kyung) on the 21st sentenced Yoon, who was charged with violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse (quasi-forcible molestation), to one year in prison, the same as the original sentence, and ordered him to complete 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program.
Yoon, an Overwatch player and coach belonging to the esports team 'OZ Gaming,' was prosecuted on charges of touching the body of a minor victim while she was asleep and forcibly molesting her again when she tried to leave. Yoon appealed the first trial's prison sentence on the grounds of excessive sentencing, but the appeal was dismissed on this day.
