Gimcheon City "Actively Attracting Rural Development Projects... Balancing Urban and Rural Areas and Improving Living Conditions"
324 Billion Won Invested in 510 Small-Scale Resident Priority Projects Last Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gimcheon City announced on the 21st that it invested over 4.9 billion KRW in drainage improvement projects that contribute to improving the farming environment and increasing farm household income to revitalize the economy frozen by COVID-19 over the past year.
In addition, by actively attracting national government-funded public projects for improving rural residential conditions, such as the General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project (including the Rural Hub Revitalization Project, Basic Living Base Development Project, and Rural New Vitality Plus Project), the city self-assessed that it succeeded in achieving two goals: balanced regional development between urban and rural areas and building livable rural communities.
A total of 32.4 billion KRW was invested in 510 small-scale resident priority projects to resolve daily life inconvenience complaints, and 15.4 billion KRW was invested in 183 agricultural infrastructure maintenance projects, which helped expand agricultural infrastructure, increase income for rural residents, and stimulate the local economy, according to Gimcheon City.
