The six products include the robot vacuum cleaner 'Jetbot AI', the refrigerator 'Bespoke Family Hub', the washer and dryer 'Grande AI', as well as the wind-free air conditioners 'Gallery' and 'Wall-mounted Wide'. The certification ceremony was held on the 20th at Samsung Electronics' Suwon plant.
The AI Plus certification, an artificial intelligence field certification, is a system that conducts testing and certification based on an objective AI quality evaluation model and international standards for quality management systems, evaluating and certifying the quality level of AI products and services in terms of reliability, safety, and more.
The Standards Association conducted tests on the AI functions of Samsung Electronics' robot vacuum cleaner, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and air conditioner products, including natural language voice recognition, object recognition through images, and data analysis recommendation functions that learn and analyze consumer usage habits, according to international standards for quality characteristics and user perspectives. Subsequently, certification was granted after an on-site audit confirmed a management system for continuously improving the quality of AI products based on the ISO 9001 international standard. The Korea Standards Association explained that it performed the overall certification process and on-site audit for Samsung Electronics based on its experience in various domestic and international testing and certification projects, as well as education and field guidance related to the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Yoo Mi-young, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Home Appliance Business Division, said, "Samsung Electronics has led the industry with innovative AI home appliances that did not exist before, such as the Family Hub refrigerator and Grande AI," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide connected solutions through Samsung home appliances so that consumers can optimize their lifestyles according to their preferences."
