Gwangju Nam-gu Encourages Legalization of Illegal Advertisements through 'Reporting and Permitting'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) has decided to promote a plan to legalize thousands of illegal advertisements that have not been reported or permitted to the district office among outdoor advertisements in the district.
According to Nam-gu on the 20th, a full survey of outdoor advertisements in the district was conducted from August to the end of November last year, and it was found that there are 8,837 advertisements subject to legalization in the district.
Looking at the status of advertisements subject to legalization, wall-mounted signs accounted for the largest number with 6,086, followed by protruding signs with 2,523, signs using posts with 145, and rooftop signs with 83.
These advertisements meet the size and installation location criteria according to relevant laws, but became illegal advertisements because they were not reported or permitted, or the display period extension was not applied for after previously being reported or permitted.
Accordingly, Nam-gu plans to send legalization notices to the owners or managers of the advertisements this year to encourage them to report to or obtain permission from administrative agencies.
In particular, if they voluntarily report or obtain permission, the enforcement fines will be waived, but if they do not voluntarily remove or proceed with the reporting and permission procedures after receiving the legalization notice, administrative measures such as imposing enforcement fines will be taken.
