Hwasun Reports 1 Additional COVID-19 Case Overnight... Jeonnam Case No. 672
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] One additional COVID-19 case was confirmed overnight in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do.
According to the county on the 20th, Jeonnam 672 (Hwasun 42), a resident of Gyeonggi-do, visited their family home in Hwasun on the 15th and came into contact with Jeonnam 655, a family member, on the 16th, leading to a diagnostic test.
Although the first test on the 16th was negative, the second test conducted the day before while under self-quarantine returned a final positive result.
Upon receiving the confirmation, the county immediately disinfected the residence and visited facilities of Jeonnam 672 and transferred the confirmed patient to the Naju Living Treatment Center assigned by Jeollanam-do.
Twenty-two personnel related to the visited facilities are scheduled to undergo diagnostic testing.
Jeonnam 672 is presumed to have been infected through contact with family member Jeonnam 655 and a Gyeonggi-do workplace colleague, Bucheon 1446. The county is investigating the exact route of infection.

A county official stated, “Although the nationwide spread has somewhat slowed, it remains a serious situation where anyone can be infected anytime and anywhere,” and urged, “Please refrain from visiting other regions and gatherings with acquaintances, and strictly follow the extended social distancing level 2 guidelines.”
