[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Airport Railroad announced on the 19th that it conducted comprehensive COVID-19 testing for all employees to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
From the 11th to the 16th, all employees of Airport Railroad and 19 partner companies, including station staff and train operators, participated in COVID-19 testing, and all tested negative.
Airport Railroad stated, "Since April last year, overseas arrivals have been restricted and telecommuting has increased, resulting in a significant decrease in commuting passengers. The number of passengers decreased by 33.8% compared to the same period last year (from February to December 2020). However, approximately 170,000 people still use the trains daily, so we conducted comprehensive testing as a proactive infection prevention and quarantine measure."
Airport Railroad performs daily disinfection and sterilization of passenger seats, walls, and floors on 28 train sets, and frequently cleans handrails and areas around doors, which are frequently touched by customers, using disinfectants.
