Yeosu City to Recruit 70 Residents for 'Yeosu Haksuk' This Year
Starting This Year, Employment Support Programs and Visits to Historic Sites and Companies Will Be Promoted
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 19th that it is recruiting 70 new residents for this year’s “Yeosu Dormitory,” which is operated to nurture talented students from Yeosu and reduce their housing cost burden, until the 29th.
Eligibility for application includes graduates of middle and high schools within the jurisdiction who are new or current students enrolled in two-year or higher colleges, universities, or graduate schools located in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do.
The city plans to announce the final residents on the 8th of next month after screening based on academic performance and living standards.
Applicants wishing to reside can apply online through the popup zone on the Yeosu City website or by mail (3rd floor, Education Support Division, 23, Sicheongdong 1-gil, Yeosu City) by the 29th.
The Yeosu Dormitory is located in Chang-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Ssangmun Station on Subway Line 4, and allows commuting to universities such as Konkuk University, Korea University, Dongguk University, and University of Seoul within an hour.
It is a seven-story building above ground with one basement floor, consisting of 35 double rooms, and provides three free meals a day.
Starting this year, employment support programs to help students understand career paths and social advancement information, as well as cultural heritage tours and sports events to promote student camaraderie, will be implemented.
Last year, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, and other appliances in the rooms were replaced, and in February, repairs such as wallpapering rooms and tiling bathrooms were carried out to create a more comfortable living environment.
For more details, visit the Yeosu City website popup zone and check the Yeosu Dormitory notices, or contact the Yeosu City Education Support Division or Yeosu Dormitory.
