[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 19th that it has established and started operating an 'IoT Test Field' and an 'Intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) Demonstration Support Lab' to demonstrate new IoT products, technologies, and services of companies.

The IoT Test Field project is part of the Ministry of Science and ICT's leading initiative to foster new IoT industries, supporting companies such as venture firms and startups in demonstrating their IoT products and services in the field before commercialization.

To this end, Incheon TP installed an ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) in Songdo International City last year in collaboration with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, and subsequently established smart city demonstration infrastructure and platforms such as smart poles (CCTV) and public Wi-Fi at Incheon Startup Park.

The AIoT Demonstration Support Lab, built on the first floor of InstaⅠ at Incheon Startup Park with an area of 54.58㎡, supports artificial intelligence training using video data and analysis of de-identified big data. The AIoT demonstration support for companies will be fully launched from next month.

Incheon TP plans to gradually expand AIoT and IoT demonstration infrastructure within the Incheon Free Economic Zone to support early commercialization of AIoT products and services, including AIoT data collection, big data and AI analysis, and service development for companies.

An Incheon TP official stated, "With the establishment of urban-based demonstration infrastructure, a demonstration environment has been created for companies possessing 4th industrial revolution technologies such as IoT and AI," adding, "We plan to continuously expand the specialized test field platform in the future."
