Supervisor who beat and neglected employee to death ... charged with murder
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 18th that it has applied murder charges and indicted suspect A (private emergency transport team leader, 42) in connection with the death of a subordinate employee at a private emergency transport team in Gimhae, Gyeongnam.
The Changwon Prosecutors' Office determined that A assaulted his subordinate employee B (42) for an extended period, recognized that B's condition had deteriorated to a fatal level, but neglected to provide aid, demonstrating intent to kill. Therefore, they applied murder charges rather than charges of injury resulting in death.
At the time of discovery, B had fractured ribs, subdural hemorrhage, and died from multiple injuries including traumatic shock.
Although A denied intent to kill, the prosecution applied the charges based on witness supplementary investigations and the autopsy report from the National Forensic Service presented by the police.
A is accused of continuously assaulting B with fists and feet for over 12 hours from 1 p.m. on the 24th of last month until 1 a.m. the following day in the emergency transport team office, then leaving him unattended for more than 9 hours, resulting in B's death.
