Ahn Young-kyu Appointed as Deputy Mayor of Incheon City Administration
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyesook Park] Ahn Young-gyu (55·photo), Deputy Mayor of Incheon City, was inaugurated on the 18th.
Considering the situation of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Deputy Mayor Ahn skipped the inauguration ceremony on this day and officially started his duties by inspecting COVID-19 response and disaster preparedness for heavy snow and cold waves.
Deputy Mayor Ahn passed the 26th Technical Examination in 1990 and began his public service career in Incheon City. He served as the Head of Planning Division at Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, Director of Construction and Transportation Bureau of Incheon City, Disaster Prevention Policy Officer at the Ministry of Public Safety and Security, and Director of Disaster Management Office at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
While working at the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, he was an urban planning expert who laid the foundation for the current Songdo International City, including Songdo International Business District (Districts 1 and 3) and Songdo Landmark City (Districts 6 and 8). At the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, he was recognized as a qualified disaster response and crisis management expert with many years of experience in the disaster safety field.
