Gwangju City Launches Pilot Project for Illegal Advertisement Cleanup Through Private Contractors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 17th that it will pilot a project to manage illegal advertisements through private contractors in order to effectively respond to the increasing number of illegal advertisements every year.
Until now, illegal advertisements have increased guerrilla-style during weekends and holidays, which are vulnerable times for management, rather than on weekdays, and it has been difficult to respond with the existing management personnel.
Accordingly, Gwangju City plans to strengthen management by operating a permanent illegal advertisement management team through private contractors.
The budget for the illegal advertisement management private contractor project is 200 million KRW, and this year, one autonomous district will be selected to pilot the operation starting in March, with plans to gradually expand to other districts.
As a result, it is expected to have effects such as creating a pleasant urban environment.
In this regard, about 930,000 illegal advertisements were managed last year in five autonomous districts, and fines totaling over 3.2 billion KRW were imposed.
