According to the Ilsan Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, at around 1 p.m. on the 16th, a resident discovered a newborn girl dead between buildings in a villa complex in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang City, and reported it to the authorities.
The deceased newborn was found with the umbilical cord still attached and was reportedly naked and frozen.
On that day, a cold wave advisory had been issued for the Goyang area due to the cold weather.
The police tracked down a suspect and arrested a woman in her 20s, identified as Ms. A, who lives in the villa complex.
The police plan to investigate Ms. A thoroughly regarding the timing of the baby's birth and death, as well as the reasons for abandonment.
