The School Health Promotion Contest is an annual project promoted by the Ministry of Education to introduce health practice operation cases involving school members to schools at all levels and to disseminate and expand them throughout the education sector.
In particular, despite the COVID-19 situation last year, more than 30 institutions including elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide and education support offices participated in a heated competition by promoting student health promotion projects through infectious disease prevention education and creative experiential activities in both online and offline classes within the school curriculum.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education recommended Gimcheon Jungang Elementary School and Bonghwa Beopjeon Jungang Elementary School, which operated systematic health programs according to the basic direction of student health management, as excellent schools, and both schools were selected as the nation's top schools.
Gimcheon Jungang Elementary School received high evaluations for developing and operating sustainable health programs, such as strengthening joint infectious disease response capabilities through health management linked with the community and home, and presenting directions for non-face-to-face student health promotion suitable for the COVID-19 era.
Additionally, Bonghwa Beopjeon Jungang Elementary School organized and operated its curriculum under the catchphrase "Mind Promotion On(溫)Tact School," enabling students to enhance their happiness in life through culture, arts, sports, and experiential activities.
