LG OLED TV Selected as 'CES Best TV' for 7 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Electronics' 2021 model LG OLED TV and next-generation flagship smartphone LG Rollable were both honored as the best products at the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition, 'CES 2021.'
Engadget, the official awards partner of CES, held the 'CES 2021 Best of Awards' ceremony on the 14th. The LG OLED TV (C1) won the top award in the TV category, while the LG Rollable received the highest honor in the mobile device category.
The LG OLED TV has been named the best TV at the official CES awards for seven consecutive years. It was selected as the best TV, surpassing premium LCD TVs equipped with miniLED such as the TCL 6 Series and Samsung Electronics' Neo QLED, as well as Sony's AI picture processor XR.
Engadget described the product as "retaining the rich colors and deep black levels that are the strengths of previous LG OLED TVs, while the latest picture and sound engine, the Alpha9 4th generation processor, analyzes and optimizes the video, and the built-in speakers deliver virtual 5.1.2 channel surround sound, providing optimal picture and sound quality."
The LG OLED TV, which received the top award, had previously won the Best Innovation Award in the gaming category from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes the CES exhibition.
