[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that it will sell Geochang Love Gift Certificates at a 10% discount starting from the 18th to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The discount period for this first sale of the new year will run from the 18th to February 28th.
Individuals, excluding affiliated stores and corporations, can purchase up to 1 million KRW per month (within 4 million KRW annually), and the certificates can be purchased at nearby agricultural and livestock cooperatives, Gyeongnam Bank, Saemaeul Geumgo, the Forestry Cooperative, and other financial institutions.
Purchasers of the gift certificates can conveniently use them like cash at 1,653 affiliated stores located in Geochang-gun.

Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “Along with the Lunar New Year discount event, let us actively participate in creating a consumption promotion atmosphere to revive the local economy hit by COVID-19 and overcome these difficult times together.”
Geochang-gun plans to issue mobile gift certificates linked with Zero Pay in March to respond to the increasing mobile payment environment in distribution.
