Gangbuk-gu Protects Health of Pregnant Women and Babies with 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Packages'
Providing Eco-Friendly Agricultural Product Packages Worth 410,000 KRW for 595 Pregnant Women Over One Year... Additional 70,000 KRW Support Planned Upon Future Budget Securing
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) is supplying packages containing eco-friendly certified agricultural products and some processed livestock products to 595 pregnant women in the area and is recruiting eligible recipients.
This project is being promoted not only to provide healthy food to pregnant women in the region but also to stimulate the supply of agricultural products, opening opportunities for farmers who have been unable to find sales channels due to COVID-19.
The eligible recipients are women currently pregnant or who have given birth since January 1, last year. However, exceptions are made for those born in 2019 but registered in 2020.
Applicants can apply by accessing the eco-friendly agricultural products shopping mall for pregnant women starting January 25.
If identity verification is done via mobile phone or if the applicant has been issued a pregnancy voucher card, no additional documents are required. Otherwise, applicants must visit the Gangbuk-gu Office Job and Economy Division with proof of pregnancy or childbirth documents such as a resident registration certificate, pregnancy confirmation, or maternal handbook to apply.
Once confirmed as a support recipient, packages can be purchased up to four times per month for one year at the designated online mall.
The maximum payment amount is 410,000 KRW, of which 80% of the purchase amount is supported, and the remaining 20% must be borne by the applicant. Each order can be between 30,000 and 100,000 KRW. The items will be delivered to the purchaser’s desired location through the supplier.
The district office plans to start ordering and delivery in February according to the project schedule.
Additionally, if the budget is secured later, an additional support of approximately 70,000 KRW will be provided to applicants.
