Movement Restrictions for All Poultry Farms in Namyangju and Goseong for 7 Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) has been confirmed at poultry farms in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, and Goseong, Gyeongnam Province.
The Central Avian Influenza Countermeasures Headquarters (CAC) announced on the 12th that after conducting detailed tests on the two farms where the H5 AI antigen was detected the previous day, it was confirmed to be the highly pathogenic H5N8 strain.
With this, highly pathogenic AI has occurred at a total of 53 domestic poultry farms and experience farms.
The CAC has culled poultry raised within a 3 km radius of the outbreak sites as a preventive measure, and poultry farms within a 10 km radius will be subject to movement restrictions for 30 days along with comprehensive inspections.
