During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on strategies to push for the passage of the special law on Gadeok New Airport at the February extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
The three metropolitan cities and provinces agreed that since the construction of the Southeast region new airport has been delayed, enacting a special law by the National Assembly is essential to promptly switch to Gadeok New Airport.
In particular, in preparation for the February extraordinary session of the National Assembly, they agreed to jointly establish concrete legislative strategies, including multifaceted promotion of the necessity of Gadeok New Airport.
Along with this, they also decided to continue working together on plans to promote Gadeok New Airport and build consensus through online and offline media targeting the entire nation.
Park Jong-won, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeongnam Province, said, “Our goal is to pass the special law for Gadeok New Airport during the February extraordinary session of the National Assembly, and I hope today’s meeting will be an occasion to strengthen the determination of Bu-Ul-Gyeong to achieve concrete results.”
