Kiwoom Securities Surpasses 9 Trillion KRW in Monthly Overseas Stock Subscription Amount... Record High
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Kiwoom Securities' monthly overseas stock subscription amount has surpassed an all-time high.
On the 12th, Kiwoom Securities announced that the overseas stock subscription amount in December reached 9.1 trillion KRW, setting a new record. This amount represents an increase of more than 1700% compared to the same period last year, rewriting the record in just three months since last September.
As individuals actively participated in the overseas stock market, the trading volume steadily increased, and in December, Kiwoom Securities' overseas stock active accounts exceeded approximately 270,000 accounts, with an average daily subscription amount of about 416 billion KRW.
In Kiwoom Securities' overseas stock subscription amount, U.S. stocks accounted for 98%. Looking at the subscription amounts by stock, Tesla ranked first with approximately 1.32 trillion KRW, followed by Apple (313.5 billion KRW), Nio (199.1 billion KRW), Moderna (176.8 billion KRW), and Xiaopeng (174.2 billion KRW). Notably, Tesla's subscription amount was greater than the combined subscription amounts of the stocks ranked 2nd to 5th.
