Seongbuk-gu Provides 200,000 KRW Support for Installing Eco-Friendly Home Boilers
Support for Installation Costs of Household 'Low-NOx Boilers' to Reduce Fine Dust and Save Heating Costs... Expanded Support Targets: 200,000 General Households, 600,000 KRW for Low-Income Groups (Recipients, Near-Poor)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is launching a support project for the installation of ‘eco-friendly boilers for households’ that can simultaneously reduce fine dust and save heating costs.
Eco-friendly boilers for households, which can save up to 130,000 KRW annually on heating costs, have a thermal efficiency of over 92%. In addition, the emission of nitrogen oxides, a major cause of ultrafine dust, is significantly lower compared to conventional boilers, reducing concerns about air pollution during use.
Through this project, general households installing eco-friendly boilers will receive 200,000 KRW in support, while low-income households (near-poverty class or basic livelihood security recipients) will receive 600,000 KRW.
Seongbuk-gu expects to support a total of 2,000 eco-friendly boilers this year.
Eligible residents will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis. Until September, applications will be accepted from homeowners of houses and apartments replacing boilers that are over 10 years old (manufactured before December 31, 2011). From October, all residents wishing to replace their boilers with eco-friendly boilers, regardless of manufacturing date, can apply for installation.
The support procedure involves residents who wish to install a boiler signing a purchase contract with suppliers such as dealerships or construction companies, then submitting a subsidy application form to the Environmental Division of the district office, after which the subsidy is provided to the supplier.
Verification of eco-friendly boiler application documents and other detailed information can be found on the Seongbuk-gu Office website under 'Introduction to Seongbuk-gu → District News (District Guide) → 2021 Household Eco-friendly Boiler Installation Support Notice.'
