[Breaking] 29 Confirmed in Bulk at Jinju Prayer Center for Forcing In-Person Worship
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] On the 11th, a large number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported at the International Prayer Center in Jinju, Gyeongnam.
Jojoo-il, mayor of Jinju, announced at a briefing held at the city hall on the same day regarding the prevention of COVID-19 spread that 29 people were collectively infected at the International Prayer Center located in Sangbong-dong.
The confirmed cases included 17 men and 12 women, all of whom were transported to hospitals. Residents of Jinju and other regions were included.
Mayor Jo explained that patient A, the 838th confirmed case in Namyangju who tested positive on the 10th, had visited the prayer center from the 3rd to the 8th and conducted lectures there.
On the same day, patient B, who tested positive at the Saha District Public Health Center in Busan, also visited the prayer center on the 3rd.
Jinju City conducted epidemiological investigations after receiving the movement routes of confirmed patients from Namyangju City and the Saha District Public Health Center in Busan.
They secured a list of 180 visitors and conducted tests on 29 facility residents and 3 participants.
