Lee Chun-seok Inaugurated as New Secretary General of the National Assembly "Leading Role in National Assembly's Relocation to Sejong City"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Lee Chun-seok, the newly appointed Secretary General of the National Assembly, held an online inauguration ceremony on the 11th and expressed his commitment to relocating the National Assembly to Sejong City.
At the online inauguration ceremony held in the National Assembly reception room on the same day, Secretary General Lee stated, "The National Assembly must respond to the era's demand to address regional imbalances and design national balanced development, triggered by COVID-19," and added, "I hope the Secretariat of the National Assembly will take a leading role in relocating the National Assembly to Sejong City with the mindset of laying a new foundation."
He continued, "The Secretariat of the National Assembly must support the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in fulfilling its role as a conflict mediator that resolves conflicts and various interests."
He also added, "While compromise is the principle, I will strive to ensure that the Secretariat of the National Assembly fulfills its role based on the belief that principles should not be compromised."
