The 24th Namwon-si National Lacquer Woodcraft Competition Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, is hosting the "24th Namwon National Lacquered Woodcraft Competition."
The "National Lacquered Woodcraft Competition" is a nationwide woodcraft contest held annually to continue the reputation of Namwon woodware, to inherit traditional techniques, and to discover works that lead to the popularization of lacquered woodcraft products.
According to Namwon City on the 11th, all works made of wood are eligible and are divided into the "Lacquered Woodcraft Division" and the "Carving Division." Submissions will be accepted from April 2 to 4, and after step-by-step evaluations by category, the final winners will be decided on the 14th. A total prize money of 120 million KRW will be awarded for 37 selected works.
The winning works will be exhibited at Namwon City Yeruwon and the KCDF Gallery in Insadong, Seoul, and for works with high commercial potential, promotional and marketing expenses will be supported separately from the prize money.
