1 Death and 15 New Confirmed Cases in Gyeongnam... Total Confirmed Cases Reach 1,552 (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jucheol In] As of 5 p.m. on the 10th, Gyeongnam Province announced that a total of 15 confirmed cases occurred: 7 in Changwon, 3 in Geoje, 2 in Yangsan, 1 in Gimhae, 1 in Goseong, and 1 in Sacheon.
All 7 cases in Changwon were either of unknown infection routes or infected through contact with existing confirmed cases.
Among the confirmed cases in Geoje, one is related to the Geoje Haesuboyang Oncheon cluster. This confirmed case tested positive in a test conducted before release from quarantine. Accordingly, the number of confirmed cases related to Geoje Haesuboyang Oncheon has increased to 35.
In Geoje, a man in his 40s, family member of case number 1036, tested positive and was classified as case number 1545. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to Haesuboyang Oncheon to 35.
Also, a girl under 10 years old and a man in his 40s tested positive and were classified as case numbers 1544 and 1546, respectively.
In Yangsan, a woman in her 40s, family member of case number 1534, tested positive and was classified as case number 1552. A teenage female with an unknown infection route also tested positive and was classified as case number 1555.
In Goseong, a man in his 20s tested positive and was classified as case number 1541.
In Gimhae, a man in his 60s, family member of case number 1529 who was confirmed with an unknown infection route, tested positive and was classified as case number 1547.
In Sacheon, a woman in her 30s with an unknown infection route tested positive and was classified as case number 1554.
The number of deaths also increased by one. An octogenarian confirmed case receiving treatment at Gyeongsang National University Hospital in Changwon passed away last night.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province increased to a total of 1,552 (302 hospitalized, 1,245 discharged, 5 deceased).
From the 11th to the 17th, Gyeongnam Province will conduct the 4th round of mass testing for workers and users of high-risk facilities such as nursing hospitals, nursing homes, elderly day care centers, and facilities for severely disabled residents to detect asymptomatic infections in daily life.
In the previous three rounds of testing on vulnerable infection facilities, Gyeongnam Province identified a total of 5 infected individuals and prevented transmission within the facilities.
