Two People Caught Surfing During High Wave Advisory in Jeju

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Coast Guard announced that on the afternoon of the 9th, when a wind wave advisory was in effect, two leisure activity participants, including Mr. A, who enjoyed surfing at Woljeong Beach in Jeju City, were caught under the Water Leisure Safety Act.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard on the 10th, Mr. A and another person reportedly enjoyed surfing for about an hour at Woljeong Beach, Woljeong-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City, around 1:56 PM the previous day.
The Jeju Coast Guard is investigating those who engaged in leisure activities without reporting amid the wind wave advisory, citing Article 59 (Fines) and Article 18 (Navigation Rules) of the Water Leisure Safety Act.
