[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Hwanghaedo Gangajitteok, Seonnyeo Jokbal, Seonnyeo Sundae, and Market Tteokbokki are now conveniently available for order via smartphone, exclusively from traditional markets in Seongbuk-gu.
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) has partnered with Naver Neighborhood Market and Coupang Eats to launch an online delivery service for traditional market products within the district.
Currently, Dolgoti Market, Donam Jeil Market, and Jangwi Traditional Market, the representative traditional markets of Seongbuk-gu, are participating. Due to positive responses from both consumers and merchants, Jeongneung Market, Jeongneung Arirang Market, Gireum Market, Jangwi Market, Seokgwan Market, and Bamnamugol Market will soon be available as well.
To use the service, search for 'Dongne Market Jangbogi' on Naver or install the 'Coupang Eats' app. When entering an address on Coupang Eats, information about nearby traditional market food options automatically appears.
Seokgwan-dong resident Park** (46) said, “I am a fan of Seonnyeo Jokbal from Donam Jeil Market, but after moving and due to the spread of COVID-19, it was difficult to visit the market, which was disappointing. Upon hearing that the online delivery service started, I immediately placed an order and enjoyed it with my family. Going forward, I plan to order various delicacies from Seongbuk-gu traditional markets like a stamp rally.”
Merchants also expressed delight and encouragement as regular customers who had been absent began using the online delivery service and leaving reviews.
A Seongbuk-gu official shared, “Naver Neighborhood Market offers free delivery for purchases over 15,000 won, and Coupang Eats is running a 5,000 won discount event until January 31. Since these promotions are available while supplies last, it is advisable to act quickly.”

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, urged, “Traditional markets, which once viewed non-face-to-face interactions due to COVID-19 as a crisis, are now finding new vitality by leveraging these conditions. Please make ample use of the online delivery service of Seongbuk-gu traditional markets, which are filled with taste, generosity, and warmth.”
