[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 8th that it is conducting periodic proactive diagnostic tests for workers at infection-vulnerable facilities (elderly, disabled, mental health, etc.) in the area to strengthen preventive measures against COVID-19.
The county conducted COVID-19 tests in two phases targeting 1,130 people at 48 infection-vulnerable facilities in the area and is currently conducting the third test. A full survey was conducted on 500 people at acute care hospitals (general hospitals, Gidok Hospital) and 213 people at nursing hospitals (public nursing hospitals, Gidok Sinhwa Hospital), all of whom tested negative.
In addition, proactive COVID-19 testing using rapid antigen tests will be conducted for 214 public transportation (taxi, bus) workers by the 15th.
Facility managers were urged to strictly comply with quarantine rules such as managing commuting by restricting workers' visits to other cities and provinces, intensive monitoring of suspected patients and contacts, infectious disease prevention education, and checking for fever and respiratory symptoms more than twice a day.
