Gwangju Seo-gu, Pilot Installation of 'Illegal Filming Detection Devices' in Public Restrooms
Sangmu Citizen Park·Ssanghak Children's Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) has installed 'illegal filming detection devices' in public restrooms with high user traffic to eradicate restroom crimes.
Seo-gu announced on the 7th that illegal filming detection devices were installed in two public restrooms: Sangmu Citizen Park (near Sangmu Friday Market) and Ssanghak Children's Park.
Recently, with the repeated release of child sex offenders and the increasing severity of illegal filming crimes, citizens' anxiety has been growing.
Until now, the district has completed the installation of emergency bells in all 55 public restrooms in the area and has worked to manage safe public restrooms by installing covers to reduce false alarms of the emergency bells.
Along with this, the project was promoted after various discussions with the Western Police Station for crime prevention.
The device installed this time detects objects when illegal filming is attempted in the restroom and sounds a bell. It allows recognition of illegal filming situations and immediate exposure of the offender, making prevention and detection of illegal filming easier.
