Incheon National University Selected for Regional Science Culture Revitalization Project... Establishing Science Culture Hub Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Institute for Gifted Science Education at Incheon National University has been selected as a new operating institution for the '2021 Regional Science Culture Activation Support Project' organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
This project supports regional science culture hubs to expand the public's access to science culture and to build an ecosystem for promoting regional science culture, enabling residents across the country to enjoy science culture and making it a driving force for the development of local communities.
This year, six locations nationwide, including Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon, were selected, and in Incheon, the Institute for Gifted Science Education at Incheon National University was chosen as the operating institution and will receive a total of 450 million KRW in support.
Incheon National University plans to promote the project by establishing the 'Incheon Science Culture Hub Center (tentative name)' at the Jemulpo Campus in Michuhol-gu for regional science culture activation operations, and will also conduct some science culture programs at the Songdo Campus.

An official from Incheon National University stated, "Through science culture festivals, science literacy education for local residents, science competitions, and operating a YouTube channel, we will serve as a focal point to revitalize science culture in Incheon."
