View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 6th that it has developed a standard analysis model based on spatial big data that can be utilized for public policy work and will make it publicly accessible to everyone.
The Ministry has been operating a spatial big data analysis platform since 2014 to analyze the meanings and interrelationships of complex social phenomena occurring in spatial contexts and to support scientific decision-making.
Since May last year, the platform has been opened to the public to promote the Digital New Deal policy, one of the major tasks of the Korean New Deal. Through this, private companies, research institutes, and universities can analyze and utilize big data without expensive software.
Going forward, it is expected to be used as a work and learning tool for industry workers, the general public, and students. Anyang University plans to officially adopt it as an educational tool starting with freshmen of the Smart City Engineering Department (tentative name) this year and open related courses.
The standard analysis models being released this time are developed for central government ministries and local governments to utilize in policy and administrative work based on spatial big data.
Ten standard analysis models that can be generally used have been established, including location analysis of living SOC facilities, support analysis for vulnerable low-rise residential areas, industrial complex location analysis, and smart crosswalk location analysis.
The developed standard models can be used in public policy tasks such as improving accessibility to public facilities, enhancing vulnerable residential environments, and solving traffic safety issues.
The spatial big data analysis platform and standard analysis models can be accessed and utilized by anyone through the website.
