66 Additional Confirmed Cases in Dongbu Detention Center 6th Investigation... Reduced by Half
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] In the 6th mass COVID-19 testing conducted on inmates and staff at Seoul Dongbu Detention Center, 66 additional cases were confirmed. This is the first time the number of confirmed cases has dropped to double digits in the mass surveys conducted so far.
On the 6th, the Ministry of Justice announced that in the 6th mass testing of 429 staff members and 338 inmates at Dongbu Detention Center, 66 inmates (19.5%) tested positive, while all staff tested negative.

As of 8 a.m. on the same day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in correctional facilities nationwide is 1,191. The number of confirmed inmates by correctional institution is 1,047 in total, with Dongbu Detention Center at 672, Gyeongbuk Bukbu 2 Prison at 341, Gwangju Prison at 16, Seoul Nambu Prison at 15, Seoul Detention Center at 1, Gangwon Bukbu Prison at 1, and Yeongwol Prison at 1.
