Jeonnam National University Medical School Professor's Debut Solo Exhibition as Painter 'Hot Topic'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] A professor at Chonnam National University College of Medicine is drawing attention by holding his first solo exhibition as a painter.
According to Chonnam National University on the 6th, Professor Song Juhyun (Department of Anatomy) held his first solo exhibition titled "Rihyun (?泫), Flowers Bloom" yesterday at the gallery "SOAR Art Museum" located in Hwasun-gun, Jeonnam.
Professor Song, who teaches anatomy at the College of Medicine and is active as a painter, presents over 70 works inspired by flowers that he has created so far in this solo exhibition.
As the exhibition theme suggests, flowers are always blooming in his works. He faces the world through flowers and finds his self by immersing into the petals.
Through the inner world soaked and dyed in vivid colors, viewers can glimpse the world the painter dreams of, and citizens suffering from COVID-19 blues can find the joy of healing and hope for the new year.
Rihyun (?泫) is a pen name meaning "reaching the light." Professor Song has loved painting since childhood and, even while working as a medical school professor, has been painting in his spare time. About 3 to 4 years ago, he began actively participating in contests and pursuing his career as a painter.
He has a distinguished record of awards in the Western art scene as diverse as his background.
