Warm Gifts Continue to Residents at 25 COVID-19 Testing Sites in Seocho-gu, Creating a Heartwarming Atmosphere
Residents, Religious Groups, and Companies Continue Delivering Food, Beverages, and Winter Supplies to COVID-19 Testing Sites in Seocho-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) announced that warm support and encouragement from residents continue to be sent to the 25 screening clinics in the area, which are being proactively operated to prevent the spread of COVID-19, providing great strength to the medical staff and public officials working outdoors in the ongoing severe cold.
Since the 29th of last month, the district has established screening clinics in 18 neighborhoods within the area, allowing COVID-19 testing at a total of 25 locations, including the Seocho-gu Public Health Center screening clinic.
By enhancing accessibility and speed, not only Seocho-gu residents but also Seoul citizens and office workers can receive free and rapid COVID-19 testing at convenient locations.
Since the start of COVID-19 testing, a total of 845,858 people have been tested at Seocho-gu screening clinics as of January 5.
Despite the sharp increase in testers and the severe cold, medical staff and workers remain dedicated to their duties, and recently Seocho-gu residents have sent various snacks, drinks, hot packs, and other small and large gifts as tokens of support and encouragement.
On Christmas Eve before the holidays last month, residents of Yangjae 2-dong supported the Seocho-gu Public Health Center screening clinic with 50 snack boxes containing sandwiches, cookies, and fruit made by themselves, and Yonsei Sarang Hospital also donated 15 boxes of ramen to the Seocho-gu Public Health Center.
Additionally, an anonymous resident living in Naegok-dong delivered 100 hot packs with their young children to the Seocho Comprehensive Gymnasium drive-thru testing site, and on January 3 of this year, the Seocho Seongsim Senior Welfare Center sent bread, coffee, and citron tea to encourage the staff working at the Seoripul Culture Plaza testing site.
On the 4th, at the Banpo Sports Complex temporary screening clinic, young students created paper airplanes by attaching 1,000 won bills to a message saying “Stay strong, medical staff!” which brought a moment of joy and laughter to the staff.
In addition, at various testing sites such as Sadang Station and Express Bus Terminal, residents have continued to offer small gestures of encouragement by delivering coffee, snacks, and beverages with messages of appreciation for the hard work.
Religious organizations also sent warm support to the medical staff. On the 23rd of last month, Janghun Church delivered Christmas gift packages consisting of handmade cookies and socks to the Seocho-gu Public Health Center screening clinic. On Christmas, Yein Church provided hot packs and health drinks to the Gangnam Station, Seocho Comprehensive Gymnasium, and Seoripul Culture Plaza testing sites. On the same day, the Caritas Bangbae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center Sisters delivered coffee, fruit, and snacks to the Sadang Station testing site.
Companies also contributed support to the medical staff. On the 16th of last month, Central City provided hot packs to the Express Bus Terminal testing site, and on December 24, Cheongho Nice employees collected donations and donated handmade cookies to the Seocho-gu Public Health Center screening clinic, saying, “We want to help a little for your continuous hard work.”
