COVID-19, 625 Cases Confirmed by 6 PM... 108 More Than Previous Day

According to the quarantine authorities and Seoul city on the 5th, from midnight to 6 p.m. nationwide, a total of 625 new confirmed cases were reported. This is 108 more than the 517 cases recorded at the same time the previous day. Among them, 471 cases (75.4%) were in the metropolitan area, and 154 cases (24.6%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, there were 228 cases in Gyeonggi, 206 in Seoul, 37 in Incheon, 29 in Busan, 24 in Gyeongnam, 17 in Chungnam, 14 each in Gwangju, Gyeongbuk, and Chungbuk, 12 in Daegu, 10 in Gangwon, 7 in Daejeon, 6 in Jeonbuk, 4 in Jeju, 2 in Ulsan, and 1 in Jeonnam. Among the 17 cities and provinces, Sejong has not yet reported any additional confirmed cases. However, the number of new confirmed cases is expected to increase until midnight when the tally closes.

Meanwhile, major new infection cases include 37 people confirmed in bulk at an apartment construction site in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi, including colleagues and family members. In addition, confirmed cases continue to emerge at a church in Jungnang-gu, Seoul (cumulative 63 cases), Suji Sanseong Church in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi (113 cases), InterCP (Christian Missionary Corporation Professional International Mission Group) in Jung-gu, Ulsan (119 cases), and Hyojeong Nursing Hospital in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju (78 cases).
