According to major foreign media such as The Washington Post (WP) on the 5th (local time), these U.S. companies sent a joint letter to Congress stating, "The presidential election has already been decided, and now is the time for the country to move forward," emphasizing that "any attempt to obstruct or delay the certification process undermines the foundation of democracy." This was intended to stress the urgent need for the Biden administration to move quickly to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and restore the livelihoods of Americans who have lost their jobs.
In addition to Goldman Sachs and MS, the joint letter included asset management firm Blackstone, consulting firm Deloitte, international credit rating agency Moody's, shared office provider WeWork, ride-sharing company Lyft, and Mastercard. The letter was reportedly led by the nonprofit organization 'Partnership for New York City,' composed of CEOs of major companies in New York City.
