Nam In-soon: "Asking 'Is something wrong?'... It's not 'Leak of lawsuit details'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] Nam In-soon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has denied allegations that she leaked the fact that former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon was sued.
In a statement on the 5th, Rep. Nam said, "After the announcement by the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office on December 30, reports claiming that I 'leaked the fact of the lawsuit' continued, but I did not know about the lawsuit in advance and did not leak it," adding, "I disclosed this point at the open meeting of the Supreme Council on July 24 last year, and there has been no change regarding this matter."
She stated, "According to the prosecution's announcement, the first time former Mayor Park obtained information was through Special Advisor Gap before the victim's complaint was filed, and both former Mayor Park and Special Advisor Gap did not know whether a complaint had been filed or the specific details of the complaint even after the filing," emphasizing, "Reports that I leaked the lawsuit fact are not true."
Rep. Nam stressed, "However, on the morning of July 8, I called the Seoul City Gender Special Advisor and asked, 'It seems there are unpleasant rumors about Mayor Park Won-soon; is something going on?' I asked this because I had not heard any specific details or the substance of the incident."
She added, "I empathize with the victim's deep pain, offer my condolences, and hope for a recovery of daily life. I apologize for causing confusion and concern to the public for a long time due to this matter."
