Gwangju Shinsegae Donates 10 Million Won from COVID-19 Recovery Campaign Profits
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) announced on the 5th that it will hold a COVID-19 overcoming campaign under the theme "We support everyone tired from COVID-19" together with the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross at the first-floor event hall.
The proceeds of 10 million KRW raised through the month-long campaign this month were pre-donated to the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross.
The donation ceremony was attended by Park Heung-seok, chairman of the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, and Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, among others.
The donated funds will be delivered to medical staff working hard to treat patients through the Gwangju Infectious Disease Dedicated Hospital, and side dishes will be provided to 100 vulnerable households.
The Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross is an organization dedicated to emergency relief activities for disaster victims and vulnerable groups in our region, as well as social service activities for the elderly, disabled, multicultural families, and low-income groups.
Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, "As COVID-19 infections are worsening day by day, I hope this small support will help medical staff working hard to treat patients and marginalized groups facing difficulties in economic activities."
