7 Additional Confirmed Cases Including Hospitalized Patients at Gwangju Hyojeong Nursing Hospital
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seven additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Gwangju, including four inpatients at a nursing hospital.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 5th, seven people tested positive and were newly registered as cases 1235 to 1241.
Cases 1237 to 1240 are inpatients at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital. Among them, one was first confirmed positive on the first floor of the new building.
The quarantine authorities plan to internally classify patients who tested negative but were identified as close contacts based on their mobility and accurately assess the risk to distribute them accordingly.
Healim Nursing Hospital, designated as a dedicated infectious disease nursing hospital, originally planned to start treatment on the 6th, but after completing construction such as partition walls, patient transfers will begin from the 7th.
Confirmed cases up to this day will be transferred to beds secured by Gwangju City and the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters.
So far, a total of 82 people related to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital in the Gwangju area, including nurses, caregivers, and inpatients, have tested positive.
