Artworks and Design Added to Bus Stops Around Heo Jun Museum and Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum
Bus Stops in Gangseo-gu, Seoul Reborn with Art and Design: Seven Stops Selected Around Heo Jun Museum and Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum... Creating a Specialized Museum Street with Public Artworks Reflecting Local Characteristics
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The bus stops in Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) have been transformed into works of art by incorporating design.
The district announced that the bus stops around its representative museums, Heojun Museum and Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum, have been developed into "bus stops flowing with culture and art."
The purpose is to make culture and art easily accessible in public spaces and to widely promote local cultural resources.
The bus stops were designed to highlight the unique characteristics of each museum so that visitors feel intrigued the moment they get off at the stops after visiting Heojun Museum and Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum.
The Heojun Museum bus stop is themed around a traditional herbal medicine cabinet. On the left side, names of herbal medicine ingredients such as ginseng, mint, and licorice are displayed, while on the right side, key terms related to Heojun, such as royal physician, Korean medicine, and Donguibogam, are listed to add interest.
The Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum bus stop is decorated based on Gyeomjae Jeongseon's artworks, making the stop itself look like a painting. The colorful hues offer a different charm from the original artworks.
In addition to the two designed bus shelters, the district installed five more bus stops featuring design advertisements. Artworks reminiscent of Heojun Museum and Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum were installed on the walls of the bus stops to enhance aesthetics and increase public interest in the facilities.
