[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, delivered a New Year's address to employees through the in-house broadcast on January 4, the first working day of 2021, and held a non-face-to-face online work report meeting.
In his New Year's address, Mayor Lee Dong-jin expressed gratitude to the residents who complied with quarantine guidelines throughout the year that started and ended with COVID-19, and to the employees who worked on the front lines of quarantine, saying, "You are all heroes who created a model of K-quarantine."
He also told the employees, "Regardless of the size of the work, the ultimate goal of the public duties that you and I are responsible for is 'a better world than now, a better society than now,'" and urged, "Although this year’s environment is challenging, please continue to work together for a better world."
During the subsequent online work report meeting, he received reports on the status of COVID-19 response, including the operation of temporary screening clinics and residential treatment centers, and carefully checked whether there was any lack of support.
He also received reports on the progress of current projects by each department and division.
