KT M Mobile Launches 'Daydeuk Promotion' Offering 100GB Monthly Data
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT M Mobile is conducting the popular "Daydeuk (Data + Benefit) Promotion," which attracted many subscribers last year, throughout January to welcome the New Year.
The "Daydeuk Promotion" is an event that provides up to 100GB of additional data per month on KT M Mobile's representative plans. This year, the promotion expands the eligible plans from the previous 4 to a total of 7 by adding 3 more plans.
First, KT M Mobile's main high-capacity plan "Moduda Mamkkeot 11GB+" (KRW 32,980 per month) offers an additional 100GB of data every month. New subscribers can use up to 171GB of data per month. According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, as of July last year, the average monthly traffic per domestic mobile subscriber was 10.54GB for LTE and 26.86GB for 5G, effectively matching the specs of unlimited plans priced in the low 30,000 KRW range.
The plan "Data Mamkkeot 15GB+/100 minutes" (KRW 25,300 per month), which provides 15GB of data monthly, will receive an additional 50GB. Also, three plans that offer 10GB of data per month ? ▲Data Mamkkeot 10GB+/100 minutes (KRW 23,100 per month) ▲L.POINT 10GB USIM (KRW 22,000 per month) ▲Data Mani 10GB/100 minutes (KRW 19,800 per month) ? will receive an extra 10GB of data for free, further enhancing the benefits of unlimited data plans in the 20,000 KRW range.
To revitalize the budget phone industry, KT M Mobile also provides an additional 2GB of data throughout the subscription period for two low-cost plans: "Data Mamkkeot 250MB+/100 minutes" (KRW 12,500 per month, 250MB data) and "Data Mamkkeot 1GB+/100 minutes" (KRW 14,300 per month, 1GB data).
With growing interest in the combination of "self-supplied phones + budget phones," KT M Mobile plans to solidify its position as the industry leader by targeting the core consumer group of self-supplied devices, the 2030 generation, this year. In fact, among subscribers to the Daydeuk Promotion conducted from March to July 2020, about 61% were in their 20s and 30s.
