Kim Mikyung, Eunpyeong District Mayor, "Strongly Promoting the Cultural Belt Project Connecting Bulgwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street and Bukhansan Han Culture Special Zone"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, "We will strongly promote the cultural belt project, which will serve as a cultural tourism hub connecting Bulgwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street and Bukhansan Han Culture Special Zone, to secure the city's future growth engines."
In her 2021 New Year's address, Mayor Kim said, "We will continue efforts for a well-connected Eunpyeong without complacency, including remarkable achievements such as passing the feasibility study for the Western Line private investment."
She added, "We will strive to improve the quality of life for residents by operating university-linked career and academic advancement programs for nurturing future talents, empathy schools, and digital literacy education supporting citizens' growth. We will also do our best to expand jobs and support residents' livelihood stability through social economy promotion, attracting businesses, supporting small and medium-sized merchants, job creation contests, and discovering new public job projects to revive the local economy and activate neighborhood markets."
Mayor Kim also pledged, "We will promote transformation into a leading smart city by integrating digital technologies based on advanced information and communication technology (ICT) and big data across all areas of district administration."
She continued, "In this era of hyperconnectivity beyond physical distances, we will expand online-based untact services throughout the public sector to serve as a bridge connecting the public and residents, and residents with each other more closely. The top priority value of district administration that must not change even in the age of artificial intelligence and the 4th Industrial Revolution is to protect human dignity and the public good of society. Differentiated childbirth and childcare services such as I-mom Taxi, Sopung, and Acham projects, along with solid and detailed network welfare spanning generations, will be a warm comfort embracing the lives of our neighbors," she said.
